Welcome to Positively Prepared!

My name is Heather McKay and I am Speech and Language Pathologist who works with children in school setting and am also a survivor of childhood cancer.

I understand the anxiety that children and parents go through when experiencing medical procedures and treatments.  I have witnessed firsthand when working with my students, how powerful these stories are at reducing a child’s anxiety and accomplishing a desired positive behavior.  Using my childhood cancer experience and professional skills of writing social narratives, I created Positively Prepared stories.
